Position Description:
This position is responsible for overall management of the Ryder Dedicated Transportation Service (DTS) system solutions, application and environment. The DTS IT Director will be responsible for the efficient and effective delivery and management of DTS IT solutions. Additionally, s/he will support defining and implementing IT solutions that align with overall business strategy. The incumbent has a direct reporting relationship within IT to the DTS Senior Director but will work closely with the SVP, VP, or GM of the GSCS business verticals.
Requirements:
Bachelors and/or advanced degree in IT, computer science, business, or related field
Ten (10) years or more of experience in IT management including direct support of business
Four (4) years or more of experience with direct vendor management, to include vendor and product selection, implementation, and ongoing support
Four (4) years or more of experience in transportation software product management
Four (4) years or more of experience managing direct reports and leading cross functional teams
Three (3) years or more of experience with current DTS software products TMW Suite and PeopleNet preferred
Excellent negotiation skills
Ability to:
Build strong customer relationships
Work effectively with internal and external customers in sometimes stressful situations
Develop and deliver effective presentations to upper level and executive management
Listen, write, and speak effectively
Inform, explain, and provide clear instructions
Listen and understand customer needs/issue

TMW Suite products (advanced level)
PeopleNet software and products (advanced level) preferred
DevOps software development methodology (intermediate level) preferred

Responsibilities:
Manage product and production support of DTS applications and systems, including but not limited to, vendor management, application operational support, product specific strategy, product and vendor metric/dashboard reporting, and product related change management
P ro vide IT system support for launch activity ensuring timeliness, fiscal responsibility, and quality
Collaborate with IT business relations team and business partners/senior leadership to identify strategic and innovative uses of technology to drive business growth and profitability
Work with stakeholders to identify service improvements and innovation opportunities and oversee the creation of service roadmaps
D TS product release management:
Manage SCOS vendor product upgrades and new releases, including but not limited to, review and communication of changes to business, support system and UAT testing, manage move to production and post-production support
V endor management of DTS system products:
Negotiate vendor agreements for products and work agreements
Manage vendor deliverables
Provide product/process/service direction to vendors
Knowledgeable of vendor (and industry) future product offerings
Co nduct meetings with senior leadership and key stakeholders across the organization to validate understanding of business goals and effectively communicate the business and/or IT strategy
D evelop and monitor approved annual operation and capital budgets for IT solutions and projects supporting their business functions
P articipate in the prioritization of workload regarding launches, change requests, and other work items
W ork with service managers and architects to identify opportunities to offer process technology improvements for improved operational efficiency
S upport DTS business analysts in identifying and implementing the appropriate solution for customer needs
D evelop and track RCE for all capital projects related to new product development, purchase and enhancements
Co ordinate with Ryder development team for product development activities, including but not limited to, both the enhancement of our existing offering as well as development of new offerings
M anage/lead team responsible for product testing including:
Support development of all test scripts
Support all levels of testing prior to system changes moving to production
Upon completion of development effort the product manager will be responsible for developing a standard implementation methodology for the new product and the successful launch of the new offering
M aintain an expert working knowledge of the products along with a basic understanding of the other similar product functionality being deployed by Ryder; an understanding of both the functional and technical aspects of the product is required as well as an understanding of the product's capabilities and limitations
B usiness development:
Support preparation and presentation of quotes and cost models
Perform other duties as assigned
