Honeywell in Hopewell, VA 23860, has an immediate opening for a Janitor in their Performance Materials and Technology Union facility.
The ideal candidate will have previous Janitorial experience in an Industrial Manufacturing, Chemical Operations environment and have the ability to work 5:00am-1:00pm and flexibility to change shifts within the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies is a $6 billion global leader in providing customers with technologies and materials for petroleum refining and petrochemical processes and high-performance specialty materials, including fluorine products; specialty films and additives; advanced fibers and composites; intermediates; specialty chemicals; and electronic materials and chemicals.
Position Responsibilities:
Janitors receive work assignments from the Lead Janitor who is responsible for the direction of housekeeping services for the south section of the facility. Assignments will include but are not limited to the following:
*Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedure
*Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; refill restroom dispensers
*Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and finish to hard floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets
*Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc
*Lock and unlock assigned buildings: secure building when facilities are not in use
*Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed
*Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds
*Attend safety meetings and other related meetings
*Take classes as required in cleaning methods and techniques, new products, First Aid, CPR, and working relationships
*Assist with inventory control and security of janitorial supplies
*Safely operate all vehicles and other job related equipment
*Support and enforce all corporate, facility and department policies
Basic Qualifications:
*High School Diploma or GED
*U.S. Citizen due to government regulations
*Ability to work 5:00am-1:00pm and flexibility to change shifts per the business needs and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Preferred Qualifications:
*Experience working in a Union Environment preferred
*Previous Janitorial experience in an industrial manufacturing or chemical plant environment
*2 years industrial manufacturing or chemical plant operation experience preferred
*Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
*Good interpersonal skills
*Attention to detail and ability to read and follow directions
*Good communication skills; verbal & written
*Basic math skills
*Good organizational skills
