Job Summary The Golf Course Equipment Technician I is enlisted to maintain an equipment fleet necessary to deliver exceptional playing conditions (golf course features) and keep a smooth flow for our customer experience. By doing so, Radrick Farms is able to achieve the mission of providing the U of M community with an exceptional golfing experience at an exceptional value.

Responsibilities* Characteristic Duties: - Inspects, diagnoses, adjusts and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various pieces of golf course maintenance equipment on a regular basis. - Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work. - Sets up and modifies new equipment as needed. - Repairs and adjusts engines and cutting mechanisms on various heavy and light golf course mowing equipment. - Keeps maintenance equipment fueled, oiled and inspected, and performs related tasks as required. - Remove snow and ice using shovels, plows, and salt spreaders. - Provide customer service to industry standards. - Perform duties in keeping with the maintenance standards of the golf course. Related Duties: - Working knowledge of the operation of gasoline, diesel and electricpowered equipment the proper methods of servicing golf course equipment the repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment and the repair and adjustment of heavy equipment including trenchers, backhoes, pickups, bulldozers, dump trucks and excavators. - Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession. - Ability to move heavy objects. - Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while repairing equipment. - Ability to understand and follow oral and written direction. - Mechanical ability to use common mechanical tools to industry standards. - Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees and the public. - Maintenance of a clean and safe work environment. - Maintains a clean and wellorganized parts inventory room. - Adherence to the proper recycling and/or disposal of various oils, compounds and other fluids (antifreeze, oil filters, etc.). - Effective, daily inspection of golf course maintenance equipment. - Possession of a valid driver's license - Clean assigned areas of work and equipment. - Facility maintenance to include basic plumbing and electrical repairs. - Train temporary staff.

Required Qualifications* High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum of two years golf course equipment maintenance experience or related experience maintaining golf course equipment. - Demonstrated knowledge of reel/bed knife grinding and maintenance. - Maintains a preventive maintenance program within budget on all equipment, and purchases repair parts and replacement supplies. -Keeps a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment.

Desired Qualifications* Demonstrated ability and willingness to train temporary staff. - Demonstrated, effective customer service skills. - Experience using hand and power tools used in the industry. - Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in various weather conditions. - Demonstrated experience effectively working in a team environment. - Demonstrated experience in irrigation system maintenance and repair. - Knowledge of the game of golf. - Asbestos Class III Operations and Maintenance (O&M) removal certification. - Class EM in the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America Membership. - Completion of one or more of the following: IGCEMA Certificate Program, GCSAA Program or other University approved Certification Program within the industry

Work Schedule M-F 7:30am-3pm (Ability to work nights, evenings, and weekends.)
