We have a part-time/full-time opening for a Batteries Plus Bulbs Store Associate/Retail Technician.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Customer Service / Sales
* Greet customers, determine needs and answer questions
* Suggest sell add-on items, participate in retail store and commercial sales activities in order to achieve sales and profit goals
* Ask questions to identify potential commercial customers
* Operate computer/cash register to complete sales transactions with accuracy
* Answer phones, ensuring messages are relayed
* Provide advice over the phone, inviting people to the store
* Assist in achieving retail and commercial sales initiatives
* Watch for loss prevention issues and advise management of any unusual activities
* Function as a team player doing whatever is necessary to help attain company goals
* Demonstrate a customer first mentality
* Become knowledgeable on bulbs and batteries to be able to help all sorts of customers
* Operate in a manner consistent with store values: open, honest, complete with excellence and pride


Experience and/or interest in minor electronic repair, smart phone repair including screens, buttons, jacks, etc is a BIG plus. If you demonstrate mechanical abilities, we will consider training you to do screen repairs, battery pack rebuilds, battery testing and much more

Merchandising / Inventory
* Rotate and stock inventory
* Install batteries, perform tests and electrical repair (will train)
* Consult with customers on all aspects of batteries, lighting, bulbs and associated technologies
* Deliver products to commercial customers, processing corresponding documentation and providing tutorials on battery, lamp and fixture technology
* Load, unload, and deliver or arrange delivery of product to customers or via third party delivery companies: including filing reports, processing paperwork and following up with action items
* Organize daily recovery of displays to achieve full store appearance
* Maintain retail shelf label pricing
* Build displays; setting up & taking down shelves and fixtures
* Prepare store for daily opening and closing
* Maintain physical facility safety and appearance including: mowing lawn, removing snow, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors. Maintain restroom cleanliness
* Follow all safety rules and regulations; wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Qualifications
* H.S. diploma/equivalent and 6 months prior work experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior retail experience desired but not required
* Ability to gain quick and solid understanding of company's electronic retail and cross reference system; capable of adapting learning to incorporate new technology
* Ability to make minor decisions and use some judgment within standardized procedures
* Good listening and verbal communication skills with a customer focus; general knowledge of customer service policies/procedures
* Must possess and use organizational and analytical problem solving skills
* Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks to effectively prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines with multiple tasks and projects
* Ability to calculate simple math, percents, ratios and algebraic expressions and read gauges
* Demonstrated technical aptitude and or technical experience desired
* Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred. Required for driving positions
* Complete all required training and demonstrate understanding of all training in practice
* Conform to all store rules and requirements including operations, safety, and others as detailed in the employee manual or store instructions
