As a Cross Application IT Project Manager within our Optum Technology Software Development Project Management Organization you will be working on Optum Applications and systems. .  You will work on projects that span multiple functional areas and applications.  You will managing projects, scheduling, budgeting, scope, project risks, as well as relationship building over IT solutions across our enterprise in order to deliver business value.
 
This is a highly and consistently funded group in which you will gain experience across applications and systems and be responsible for managing complex project(s) within a blue chip program for 2015.  There is a great deal of growth potential in this role and if you are an application Project Manager, you will gain cross-application experience.  There will be little or no travel for this position. 
You are expected to work in a matrixed organization and lead multiple projects simultaneously, and will receive coaching as needed from more senior staff. 
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Manage projects to deliver IT solutions
Responsible for multiple projects simultaneously
Heavily involved with setting up recurring status meetings with the IT and business, fielding questions from the business, as well as handling issues that arise from the business and IT
Gather and update project materials, completing budgeting, forecasting, project documentation, , and lessons learned documents
Speak to details of the project to both the business and technical teams from beginning to end of all projects. You will manage key projects to ensure successful completion
Engaging cross-functional interdependencies
Actively improve processes to optimize performance and value over time
Provide risk management and issue/problem resolution as required
Able to report status to C level

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

5-10+ years of IT Project Management experience
5-10+ years of technical experience in one or more aspects of information systems development or Business/information systems areas
5-10+ years of working hands-on with all aspects of the System Development Life Cycle
2+ years of experience working with Project Management tools i.e. MS Project, Planview, Clarity or similar tool
Experience with working with remote/virtual team
2+ years of experience being responsible for scope, budget and schedule of projects
 
Preferred Qualifications:

Healthcare Industry experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or willing to get certified within first two years in group
Experience with IT Cross Application Project Management
Very strong understanding of distributed technologies & architecture
Exposure to multiple PM methodologies such as Waterfall, Interactive, and Agile
Process implementation & re-engineering
Experience with Application Project Management
