As an Oncology Specialty Pharmacist you will perform various duties related to the clinical oncology program. Primary Responsibilities: 

Review of oncology drug therapy regimen
The review, development, and implementation of oncology clinical programs
Oversees the activities of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy clerks and customer service advocates
Organizes workload, sets priorities, completes assignments in a timely manner and utilizes resources appropriately while complying with department program standards
Performs all duties and functions in compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
Conforms with and supports department quality assurance and improvement guidelines
Work directly with our oncology therapy team of pharmacists, nurses, and technicians
Role will include consulting physicians/providers with questions and interpretations of clinical guideline criteria and coverage determinations that have been rendered
Role includes consulting with oncology team and/or physicians regarding use of medications and advise of appropriate formulary alternatives when requested
Role includes participating in quality improvement and process enhancement projects as assigned by management
Dedication to build rapport with coworkers, internal customers, and other departments by demonstrating a strong customer service orientation and a continuous positive image of OptumRx
Demonstrate ability to maintain productive working relationships with team members, other internal and external customers, and management team
Perform duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders and other duties as required 

Requirements


Required Qualifications: 

Bachelor of Pharmacy or Pharm D degree
Active pharmacist license with no restrictions in state of job location
1+ year of practicing pharmacist experience
1+ year working in the field of oncology or with oncology medication
Ability to navigate MS Office and a Windows based environment to include create, edit, save, and send documents utilizing Microsoft Word, Outlook and conduct Internet searches
Must be able to work the designated shift and overtime, depending on business needs
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills are required
Strong customer service orientation and commitment to professionalism is required
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications: 

Pharm.D. degree and completion of Pharmacy Residency
Experience developing or operationalizing medication clinical guidelines and/or formulary development
Strong drug product and clinical pharmacy knowledge, specifically, but not limited to, the area of oncology
Experience working with a PBM company or managed healthcare system
Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist
