Responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care for the patient undergoing procedures in the Endoscopy unit in accordance with the plan of care, established hospital and departmental policies, procedures and standards of care. Communicates findings as indicated to appropriate persons and documents same in the patient's medical record. Responsible for managing/overseeing the care and services provided by ancillary and other professional personnel. Responsible for managing supplies and other equipment within the unit. Develops and maintains a collaborative and collegial relationship with physicians and interdepartmental personnel as they relate to the care of the postoperative patient. Participates in marketing of endoscopy unit services to the medical staff. Maintains competent endoscopy procedure, moderate sedation, and recovery skill level to ensure provision of safe quality patient care. The RN assures that the philosophy, mission, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of St. Edward Mercy Medical Center are followed. Is sensitive to the needs of patients, families and fellow co-workers; plans and provides professional nursing care for patients in accordance with age specific needs, plans and provides professional nursing care for patients in accordance with any identified cultural diversity needs (such as religions, lifestyles, beliefs, physical capabilities, and cultures); plans and provides professional nursing care for patients by assuring appropriate and effective pain management; assess, report, and assist any patients that present with evidence of abuse and/or neglect; and supports the mission of SEMMC. Co-workers are expected to abide by St. Edward Mercy Medical Center safety and infection control policies to maintain a safe environment for patients and co-workers.

Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care in accordance with hospital policy/procedure, all nursing division standards of practice, hospital, community, national standards and regulatory agency requirements.

Administers and documents medications according to medication policies and procedures.

Documents nursing care in accordance with hospitalpolicy/procedure, all nursing division standards of practice, hospital, national standards and regulatory agency requirements.

Assists Physicians with procedures, assuring appropriate equipment and supplies are readily available, maintaining sterile technique when appropriate.

Ensures a safe, supportive environment for staff, medical staff, patients and students.

Follows standards of care and departmental policies related to safety.

Demonstrates effective interperonal communication skills with all staffand medical staff about departmental operations, practices, medical-legal and patient care issues.

Builds and maintains team performance through developing positive working relationships with physicians, departmental and hospital staff. Listens effectively to others, and works cooperatively with others as part of the team.

Responsible for attendance and punctuality to ensure efficient and cost effective operations of the department.

Assumes responsibility for use of budgeted supplies and equipment judiciously.

Assumes responsibility for keeping current with departmental organizational trends and customer needs.

Demonstrates commitment to professional growth. Participates in activities designed to enhance skills, professional and personal growth.

Provides effective, efficient services to clients, patients, co-workers and members of the medical staff.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school

Licensure: RN Licensure in the State of Arkansas

Experience: One year Endoscopy or Medical-Surgical experience.

Successful completion of medication administration math competency test

Certifications: ACLS Required
