Requirements

Springfield, OH company is seeking a CNC Form Setup / Operator for a full time position.   Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Setup and operate CNC turning and milling (3, 4 and 5 axis) machines with minimal direct supervision.
  • Edit and adjust CNC programs as necessary to assure product quality.  Understanding G and M cold language required.  Assist with CNC program development from blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, tolerances and engineering specifications as they relate to machining and product quality requirements.
  • Verify dimensions and product quality using precision measuring instruments.  Ability to understand and follow control plans and document findings.  Use gauging and inspection to detect and resolve quality issues.
  • Proactively and directly assist management in identifying quality and procedural issues.
  • Institute permanent changes in operating procedures and training to resolve these issues.
  • Act safely and within skill level in all times.  Maintain all department equipment in a clean and reliable condition.
  • To perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education:

 

         High School (required):  Diploma or GED with vocational certificate.          College (preferred):  Two-year Industrial Technology degree with CNC focus.          Type of Driver s License Required:  Driver s License                 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

 

CNC :

  • Able to set-up and operate CNC turning and milling machines. 
  • Able to edit and make adjustments to CNC programs. 
  • Assist with creating programs. 
  • Understanding G and M code language preferred. 
  • Experience with CAM software a plus.

 

Quality:

  • To use calipers, micrometers, microscopes, optical comparators and other precision measurement equipment to ensure that parts meet specifications.

 

Communication:

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, engineering drawings, blueprints, diagrams, schedules and procedure manuals.
  Personal Responsibility:          Demonstrate willingness to accept personal responsibility and be a self-motivated team member.          Demonstrate attention to detail, strong analytic and problem solving skills.          Proficient in math and geometry.          Able to apply concepts to blueprint interpretation and CNC program calculations and adjustments.          Able to use computer and CNC control systems effectively.   Experience:          Minimum 5 years working in a manufacturing environment with 3 years CNC milling and turning experience.
