POSITION SUMMARY
Clinical Account Executives serve as a key representative of the Aetna Pharmacy Management (APM) team directly to employer accounts. This includes leading clinical efforts related to planning and promotion of pharmacy programs and strategies which enhance quality of care, optimize pharmacy spend, and establish competitive business advantages for Aetna.

Excellent written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills
Collaboration for results - fosters trust and works effectively across functional areas
Business and industry acumen - willingly shares industry knowledge and critically evaluates current market activity
Solutions focused - evaluates complex information in an effort to identify well-reasoned solutions
Advanced experience with Microsoft desktop tools (PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
In-depth knowledge and experience in managed care / managed pharmacy / competitive environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills.
Ability to evaluate complex information and create messaging appropriate for various audiences.
EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Doctor of Pharmacy.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION
This position has been a feeder group for multiple opportunities within Aetna. Multiple individuals in this position originally have been promoted to Strategic Account Executives.
Provides consultation and recommendations to assigned clients regarding:
Pharmacy component of medical benefit
Clinical program strategies
Benefit design recommendations
Utilization management approaches
Specialty drug therapy management
Works in cooperation with Aetnas regional account management, APM Client Relationship Management team and other internal contacts, to provide pharmacy program, benefit design, and clinical program consultation and recommendations to Aetna clients.
Serves as the first line resource for clinical pharmacy related questions and issues. Continually educates clients on current topics in the industry, new programs and maximizes opportunities for existing programs and strategies.
Identifies, assists and evaluates client specific solutions when required.
Collaborate with client facing teams to proactively communicate Aetnas key messages and differentiators to current and potential clients and the consultant community.
Establishes and maintains strong internal and external relationships. Participates in national, regional and local workgroups as needed.
Develop strong working relationship and sense of teamwork through information sharing, mentoring, coaching, and developing yourself and others.
Ensures effective communications between customers and business partners.
