Patients who have a primary orthopedic
diagnosis.
Includes total hip, knee and shoulder
joint arthroplasty, repair of fracture, or Orthopedic spine surgery.
We are a Marshall Steele Premier Site Facility, Joint
Commission Disease Specific Certified in total hip and knee replacements, and a
Center for Blue Care Distinction in Spine Surgery. Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing and directing general
nursing care to patients. The RN follows nursing process of assessment,
planning, & implementation in a single or variety of
departments/units. Will administer medication & treatment;
participate in safety protocol; observe, assess & record patient condition;
initiate patient education; and perform nursing skills within BLS protocols and
standards.
Valid State RN
License, required. One year previous experience, preferred.
Requires an associate's degree and is certified as a registered nurse. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
