Porter - Full-time / Part-time

Reporting to the supervisor on duty the Porter will maintain required daily sanitation standards and perform set-up functions in Faculty House. Uses the necessary uniform and protective equipment during assigned shift. The incumbent will also maintain general cleanliness and neatness of assigned areas in Faculty House including but not limited to lobby, cocktail lounge, function rooms, elevators, fire stairs, pantry and catering rooms, janitors closet, coat room, lavatories, men's and women's locker rooms. Clean, shampoo and vacuum carpets. Dust furniture and equipment as needed. Pull equipment for functions; check all function sheets for the day's events and ensure equipment pull is done. Assist with set-up and breakdown of functions, stocking of condiment stations in caf. Set-up all events and/or meeting space requirements according to function sheets including but not limited to: set-up and removal of podiums, air walls, risers, dance floors, flip charts and easels etc. (inform supervisor of any additional request). Organize and clean all refrigerators, freezers, store rooms; wash dishware and pots; clean coffee machines and reach boxes and other related caf or kitchen equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor on duty.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

High School Diploma or its equivalent required. Six months to one year related experience. Requires effective verbal communication skills along with ability to follow instructions, and work under pressure with minimal supervision. Must be able to walk and stand for long period of time. Heavy lifting required up to 50lbs. Requires flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
