ACL Laboratories is jointly operated by Wisconsin-based Aurora Health Care and Advocate Health Care. Created via a merger of several established laboratories, ACL continues a 40-year tradition of providing a full range of lab services. We able to draw on the resources two major health care systems which uniquely positions us to provide superior service on a wide range of clinical and analytical testing, including molecular diagnostics. We also offer 24-hour turnaround on most routine lab tests - including toxicology, environmental, and specialty tests. Our staff includes board-certified pathologists, PhD chemists and microbiologists, registered medical technologists/technicians, cytotechnologists, histotechnicians, and specialists in information technology.

Bachelor degree and graduation from a Medical Technology program approved by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or an equivalent program, in a science related field, or documented equivalent education and training (ie MLT with 5 years of laboratory experience in Accrediting Organization, CAP, or any other lab accrediting agency).

Two (02) years clinical laboratory experience as a working laboratory professional.

Position involves moderate and/or high complexity testing as defined by CLIA '88.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Knowledge of computers with basic understanding of word processing and spreadsheets.

Thorough knowledge of statistics and ability to apply statistical rules/analysis to laboratory decision~making processes.

Proven ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks.

MLS(ASCP), MT(ASCP), MT(AMT) with baccalaureate degree. ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) categorical certification (BB, C, H, I, M) or a baccalaureate degree where categorical certification in specialty area is not available. Hazardous chemical exposure and contact with infectious biological specimens and sharps are experienced on a daily basis.

Ability to lift (medium~up to 20~50 pound occasionally and/or 10 ~25 pounds frequently) and use of keyboard and microscope extensively may be required, dependent upon job and shift assignment. Prolonged standing, lifting, bending, and telephone use. Some instrumentation and work counter are higher than table height.

Fast paced environment with established time constraints.

Act as coordinator for a clinical laboratory section within ACL Laboratories. The coordinator performs diagnostic testing and related responsibilities as well as demonstrates an understanding of scientific theories and techniques of procedures performed. The incumbent will assist in coordinating all technical, logistical and administrative function to ensure prompt testing and reporting of results for clinical laboratory samples within established timeframes. In addition, the incumbent serves as an assistant to the department laboratory supervisor and functions as the department laboratory supervisor during off shifts or as appropriate.

Accountabilities:

Performs moderately and/or highly complex analyses with accuracy and precision, understanding basic and complex principles of methodology

Maintains adequate inventory of supplies as required by the department.

Shift Operations

This associate will work Monday-Friday 2:30pm to 11pm with Saturday, Sunday, Monday off. The next week, this associate will work Tuesday-Friday 2:30pm-11pm and then Saturday 7pm-3:30am.
