Job Description
Maintains established standards for high quality food. Serves and delivers patient and non-patient meals. Knows, practices and teaches principles of quantity food preparation. Handles all cold foods following established HACCP standards. Stocks holding coolers according to established par levels. Sets up steam tables according to established maps. Prepares cold foods and beverages for patients and customers according to tally and production sheets. Serves customers in a professional manner practicing good customer service, proper merchandizing, and correct portion control. Accurately assembles and delivers patient trays to appropriate unit/room according to established procedures following AYR guidelines including procedures for priority trays. Collects soiled patient trays and records the inputs from the trays. Provides pre-preparation, set-up and cleanup for food. Prepares for next meal service and special functions. Gather all service ware and equipment necessary for set-up and service. Prepares and cleans up rooms, tables and seating arrangements for special functions. Records temperatures of freezers and refrigerators following HACCP established standards. Sets up and breaks down salad bar according to established procedures and diagrams. Washes and sanitizes all service ware, pots, pans and silverware for food service operation. Retrieves and cleans all patient tray carts from nursing units. Strips, stacks and sorts soiled trays, dishes and utensils according to established procedures. Loads and unloads dish machine according to established methods. Washes and sanitizes pots and pans according to established methods using appropriate cleaning agents. Stocks assigned areas with utensils and supplies. Prepares order requisition for Stockroom Assistant according to established par levels. Restocks condiments, workstations, freezer and refrigerators. Maintains appropriate sanitation in work area and follows safe food handling techniques. Covers, labels and stores foods according to established procedures. Follows established HACCP standards for checking and recording food temperatures. Maintains a "clean as you go" attitude (using prescribed methods and agents). Utilizes sanitation checklists. Utilizes and stores cleaning agents properly. Uses proper hand washing and glove techniques. Performs other duties as assigned. Operates and understands appropriate use of equipment assembly, disassembly and cleaning. Understands how to operate dish machine according to established procedure. Operates cash register according to established procedure. Operates all kitchen equipment according to established procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience: No previous experience required. Education: High School or equivalent preferred.
License or Certification:
Exemption Status: Non-exempt
Hours/Pay Period: 60
Schedule Details: Monday through Sunday 5:00am-8:30pm, varying shifts
Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend/Holiday rotation
Compensation Detail: The minimum rate of pay for this position is 12.56
