Job Description

Job Title: Porter (Service) / Lot Attendant, Valet

Department: Service

Reports To: Service Manager and Porter Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Greets and directs customers and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.

Keeps the service drive clear of vehicles that are not staged for pick-up, parking vehicles in assigned areas.

Works with the cashier to stage customer vehicles for pick-up.

Communicates with counterparts in various areas of the Service Department and other departments with company-assigned communication devices,

Serves as back-up shuttle driver.

Inspects and checks-in new vehicles when delivered. Confirms accessories purportedly on the vehicle that are listed on the invoice, as well as checking for any damage to the vehicle. Records the description of damages and lists any missing items on the delivery receipt.

Keeps refrigerators, coffee, etc. stocked.

Maintains a clean and organized service environment (i.e., trash, bathrooms etc.). Takes initiative to address sub-standard cleanliness and organization, and reports any concerns to management.

Works with the Detail Department, returning completed vehicles to the Service Department for staging.

Monitors repair order drop boxes, ensuring completed repair orders are distributed in a timely manner to the service consultants.

Ensures that E.V. charging cables are coiled.

Stages vehicles for technicians via communication with (PTT) with the dispatcher.

MARGINAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Be on-time for work.

Maintain a positive, can do attitude.

Maintain a professional and clean appearance each and every day.

All vehicle movement must be done at 5 MPH or less.

Maintains a professional composure while on the premises or otherwise representing the company.

Be aware when using direct/instant communication devices that people other than the person with whom you are intending to communicate may hear you. Be professional. Sensitive information should be delivered in person or by phone (no speakerphone conversations as per service department policy).

All vehicle keys must be secured in lock-boxes. Keys are never to be left in a vehicle.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :

Valid California Driver s License.
