The Time Warner Cable Charlotte office currently seeks a System Administrator for our Information Technology Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Position Summary
The system administrator is responsible for managing the IBM Power Systems that run the ICOMS Billing Application. The purpose of this position is to ensure that the systems are operating at maximum efficiency in order to meet company service level agreements. The person in this role is responsible for managing the IBM Operating System, system hardware, data replication, and back-up and recovery services for production, high availability, test, and development partitions located locally as well as in remote data centers.

Essential Job Functions:
Manages IBM Operating System which includes performing upgrades, installing PTF’s, and troubleshooting issues
Manage data replication processes to high availability systems as well as other downstream servers.
Ability to perform switches from production systems to high availability systems
Installs and upgrades all 3rd Party software products used on systems
Perform hardware installations and upgrades. Configures systems in compliance with hardening standards
Ability to complete server and hardware management console (HMC) firmware upgrades
Supports back-up and restore strategy using traditional tape drives as well as virtual tape libraries.


Job Requirements:
Minimum 4 years of experience managing IBM Power Systems running OS V5r4 or higher
Experienced using MIMIX HA1 software as well as IBM Change Data Capture (Data Mirror)
Ability to configure and manage local and remote journaling of files
Ability to manage multiple LPAR’s and shift memory and processing resources
Experience using IBM BRMS application for backup and recovery services
Basic understanding of TCP/IP network topology and configuration
Knowledge of Control Language (CL) programming language
System device management

Preferred Qualifications:
IBM Certified System Administrator
Excellent communications skills
Experience using Microsoft Office, Visio, and Project
Ability to use SQL coding techniques to extract data
Familiar with ICOMS Billing Application

Education and Experience:
Associate ' s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
