Airgas USA, LLC has an excellent opportunity for a CDL A Driver / Counter Sales support at our Port Huron, MI Branch. This position will provide customer route delivery of hard goods, high-pressure and liquid cylinders as well as have the opportunity to work in the Port Huron and Auburn Hills retail store. In this role, you will learn to safely handle high pressure cylinders, how to respond to customer inquiries for both walk-in and call-in customers, and represent Airgas by providing personal and friendly customer service.
Driver: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Delivery of compressed gas cylinders and liquid cylinders to customers; return empty cylinder to plant for refilling
* Provide excellent customer service (communication, provide information on cost, ordering and delivery times, etc.)
* Maintain documentation (load manifests, vehicle documents, truck counts, shipping documents)
* Stock truck for daily deliveries
* Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations
* Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed
Counter Sales: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Solicits sales from walk-in and telephone call-in customers by identifying product needs and locating merchandise.
* Restocks store merchandise as needed. Arranges stock on shelves or racks in sales area and keeps merchandise in order. Marks or tickets merchandise.
* Assist in warehouse in shipping & receiving, inventory stocking, cleaning, labeling, or other tasks.
* Maintains showroom cleanliness by procedures set forth by management.
* Follow all verbal directives by management as requested.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
* HS Diploma or equivalent preferred
* Customer service experience
* Class A CDL
* HAZMAT endorsement (or ability to obtain Hazmat)
* Minimum of 1 year verifiable professional driving experience or Minimum 6 months with a degree from Certified Driving School
COMPUTER SKILLS:
* Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook E-mail); SAP a plus.
* Comfortable learning new software.
COMMUNICATION and/or CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS:
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
* Demonstrates a clear and effective speaking manner for the purpose of explaining information to customers and employees.
* Strong problem-solver, with an eye for detail.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
* Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent's.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC.
* Valid Class A or B Driver's License with Hazmat and Airbrakes certifications.
* Verifiable professional driving experience and must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by regulation for drivers.
* No major driving violations.
PHYSICAL ABILITY:
* Regularly required to stand, sit and talk or hear.
* Occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel or use a calculator or computer; and reach with hands and arms
* Occasionally lift and/or move liquid containers up to 60 pounds and move more than 800 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
* Eyesight must be sufficient to view computer monitor for long periods of time or on a continual basis.
