Sodexo Universities has a General Manager 2 opportunity at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. The Health Science Center is part of the statewide, multi-campus University of Tennessee system. UTHSC includes the colleges of Allied Health Sciences, Dentistry, Graduate Health Science, Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy.
The General Manager 2 will manage the retail segment of the University of TN Health Science Center in downtown Memphis. There are 4 locations with a total of 6 retail concepts. Einstin's Bagel Brothers, Erbert & Gerbert Subs, Subcontract of Chick Fil A, a Garden Toss, a snack bar in the main student classroom building, and a Simply to Go located on Baptist College campus, but is managed as a part of the UTHSC contract.
The General Manager 2 will also be responsible for all financial reporting, budgets, client communication, upholding all Sodexo standards, all audits- NSF included , marketing, website management, and the liaison between this location and the national brands that are represented on campus. This is a management fee contract on a non-traditional campus. Retail is open Monday - Friday from 7:30am-2pm. There is an occasional request and requirement to have something open on a weekend. The ideal candidate will have a retail food service background and brand experience associated with one of the listed brands is a plus.
Position Summary
Manages all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
