We are recruiting for an Intern to join our Medical Affairs Team in Louisville, KY.
This position will assist the Chief Medical Officer of Kindred Healthcare in developing, analyzing, and reporting on medical and clinical quality improvement initiatives being conducted in Kindred's facilities nationwide. Quality improvement initiatives may include: fall and pressure ulcer prevention, diabetes management, reducing unplanned rehospitalizations, improving physician and provider quality and accountability, and reducing the use of unnecessary atypical antipsychotic medications.
Essential Functions:
Help develop a quality dashboard that incorporates clinical quality data from multiple lines of business that Kindred provides.
Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer on quality improvement project design, data collection, tracking & analysis, and reporting; they may also work on special projects related to the Medical Affairs Department.
Responsible for collaborating with division's clinical team in the corporate office, including physicians, registered nurses, respiratory and occupational therapists, pharmacists, and data analysts.
Must be a current full-time college student able to work roughly 15 hours a week on a year round basis.
Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Navigation Skills in a BW/SAP Hana Environment would be helpful.
Pre-medical, research, or statistical experience would be helpful.
Work independently with strict confidentiality
Organizational skills/e-filing
