Position Purpose: The Senior Manager Environmental Design Strategy will be responsible for translating customer insights into strategic theories to be tested through the design process and later implemented and tested in field locations. The responsibilities include the gathering of market trends, customer insights and store operations information to develop sound design strategies for improving the overall customer experience. This position is responsible for driving strategic development for new merchandising concepts, in-store environment initiatives and planning for merchandising capital investment to improve and evolve the customer shopping experience and space productivity in all HD retail formats. Responsibilities include creative development and design idea generation for store merchandising, visual and signing standards, way finding, point-of-purchase and promotional signing, fixture design, space planning, planogram development, design for operational productivity/cost-out, CBA and project management, merchandising to field communications, product trend and style leadership.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

20%-Provide strategic leadership for specific new formats or merchandising concept development based on customers, store footprint, products and geography.

20%-Act as the environmental subject matter expert to drive all components of idea generation, space planning, graphic strategy including: applicable standards, product positioning, layout, product packaging, visual communications and graphics, fixtures, macro / micro space allocation to enhance the customer shopping experience.

30%-Directs and manages Agency partners using processes and standards, to provide well-thought through project vision, scope and direction.

10%-Drives / influences cross-functional partners (e.g. merchants, operations, IT, maintenance, in store environment, agency support, vendors) to ensure speed and interconnected communication (e.g. Inter connected retail).

10%-Leverages customer insights, industry trends and retail best practices to drive creative and innovative solutions for business opportunities.

10%-Attend line reviews, kick-off meetings, customer insights groups and category departments as needed to understand the product specific needs of the business.

Nature and Scope: This potion reports to Director. This position 0-2 direct reports

Environmental Job Requirements: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel: Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.Standard Minimum Qualifications: Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must pass the Drug Test. Must pass Background Check. Must pass pre-employment test if applicable.

Education Required: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Work Experience Required: 6

Physical Requirements: Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).

Additional Qualifications: Experience with a national multi-unit retailer or strong agency experience supporting a national multi-unit retailer with an emphasis on store design, architecture, graphics, visual merchandising, visual communications, marketing, planograms, space planning and store implementation of programs.

Preferred Qualifications: - Strong free hand drafting & computer skills, particularly in design software, power point and Excel. - Demonstrated knowledge of retail store design, architecture and planning experience. - Experience researching and exploring best practices in store design execution with ability to discern which competitive ideas are most effective in our store environment. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: -Knowledge or experience with creative design - Cross-functional multi-project management experience
