Position Requirements:
Certification in a specialty of choice desirable.
Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of employment.
Demonstrated working knowledge of nursing clinical practices and management.
Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and
patient care activities.
Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
Interpersonal skills for working closely with others on a team.
Ability to plan, direct. control and monitor others' activities.
Demonstrates leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.
Promotes mutual respect and professionalism in working relationships.
Demonstrated proficiency with common computer based applications such as e-mail, Windows-based programs and various databases.
Five or more years of nursing management or supervisor experience in a clinical acute care setting. Experience to include fiscal/budget management
responsibilities.
Occasional US travel to conferences and UHS management meetings.
