- Making sure our products meet the standards of District Taco
- Overseeing all aspects of food preparation and storage
Core Responsibilities
- Identifying problems and determining solutions
- Proposing solutions to the General Manager
- Examining all kitchen equipment and requesting repairs or replacement as needed
- Consulting the General Manager regarding addition or termination of kitchen employees
- Providing motivation and support for employees
- Creating weekly schedules for kitchen employees
- Enforcing District Taco’s safe food handling practices
- Maintaining quality by monitoring staff and sampling products at various stages of production
- Communicating clear expectations to employees
- Delegating tasks as needed and marking on deployment sheets
- Ensuring that employees receive proper training and guidance
- Confirming that Assistant Kitchen Manager takes and logs temperatures
- Acknowledging positive and negative behavior through performance reviews and disciplinary action
- Assessing needs and ordering supplies for the kitchen
- Updating Shift Notes daily
