The Product Engineering team in Athens, GA is looking for energetic self-motivated mechanical and electrical engineering students to intern within its well established group for the Summer 2016. With this position, the candidates will interact with numerous projects with high visibility throughout the entire Carrier Transicold organization. Applicants will be expected to engage in all aspects of project management, from undertaking the conceptual design, qualification & test planning, component & system level design freeze, and finally production release & implementation. All tasks will have key involvement with various departments within Carrier including Purchasing, Field Service, Manufacturing, and Quality, granting a broad opportunity for diversity and development.

Candidates will also be responsible for the coordination and guidance of Design Engineers and Lab Technicians with project details. The intern will work with the engineering team to develop formal presentations to senior management through Technical Review Board (TRB) and/or Quality Review Board (QRB) meetings in which project direction is given.

Job Responsibilities:

Interact with multiple projects and drive deliverables to meet targets (cost, quality, reliability).

Develop knowledge of refrigeration systems, vibration analysis, & air management.

Lead meetings with key suppliers and/or stakeholders to keep participants engaged.

Prepare and present updates in meetings to key stakeholders.

Develop and present documents for meetings with senior management.

Utilize tools to improve processes in terms of project execution and product implementation.

Support factory sustaining issues based on projects.
