Inspects incoming parts and assemblies, in-process, and/or completed electronic assemblies, sub-assemblies, and finished products.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma and one year of experience, or an AS degree, including experience with electronic equipment in a repair, production/manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of previous work experience using a computer.

 

SKILLS

Data entry skills.  Typing 20 wpm.  Able to write reports/correspondence/procedure manuals, and present information and respond to questions from managers/customers/general public.  Must be observant and very good at paying attention to detail. You will also need to be patient as some tests are complex and take a long time to complete.  You should have a logical, methodical approach to your work and you must be accurate when taking measurements and recording figures.  Follows established procedures on routine work, requires instruction on new assignments.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Works on assigments that are semiroutine. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

  • Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
  • Performs functionality testing of electronic products and accessories
  • Performs a visual inspection on electronic products and accessories
  • Checks for workmanship, dimensional specs, tolerances and usability from a functional standpoint
  • Conducts Production Line sampling by auditing finished goods for completeness and functionality
  • Keeps necessary written or computerized logs and records as requested.
  • Follows established procedures on routine work.
  • Uses SPC knowledge for quality inspections
