The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) seeks a Parking Attendant for its Washington, DC campus. This position is responsible for managing the parking facility located at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies Nitze Building.

This position is considered "Essential Personnel" in the event that:

- an emergency occurs at the JHU Washington D.C. Center (SAIS, Carey Business School or Krieger School of Arts & Sciences)

- inclement weather forces the closing of JHU, Washington D.C. Center (SAIS, Carey Business School or Krieger School of Arts & Sciences)

- for other emergency events deemed appropriate.
Essential Personnel may be required to report to or remain at work if instructed to do so.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

* Overseeing and maintaining the parking lot to ensure that all spaces are filled by approved parking permits and available space is maximized, which may require relocation/rearrangement of vehicles. * Ensuring that all visitors have the required temporary parking permits on their vehicles. * Maintaining the car key cabinet. * Completing regular parking lot patrol as part of access control and property security. * Cleaning and ensuring that the parking lot is free of debris and trash, and all trash receptacles are secure and locked. * Completing snow removal as necessary in lot. * Keeping fire lanes open at all times. * Checking the fuel oil tank at the beginning and end of each month; every Monday give results report to Chief Engineer no later than 10:00 am. * Assisting with events and room setup as assigned or required. * Ensure that all vehicles can exit the parking lot at the end of the day.

Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED required. * Valid driver's license, required. Driving record assessed annually. No more than 2 points and no moving violations. * Must pass annual driving test. * At least 2 years of experience as a parking attendant.
