Nature of Work
Client is seeking qualified candidates for the position of a project engineer to support wastewater treatment project in Las Vegas, NV
Selected individual will provide technical and managerial support to management staff, field staff, and subcontractors to ensure efficient and coordinated project execution and ensure that construction work complies with contract documents and engineering standards.
Qualifications
- Possess a 4-year Engineering or Construction Management Degree. Equivalent combination of experience, skills and training may be substituted.
- Minimum of 5 years of related Project Engineer experience.
- Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to discipline.
- Ability to perform trigonometric calculations, either manually or with calculator.
- Ability to assume responsibility, and interfaces and communicates effectively with others.
- Familiarity with Project Management data base systems such as Primavera Contract Manager, Expedition, Share Point, etc.
Performance Expectations
- Provide support to Project Manager and Superintendent Including:
- Subcontractor Procurement and management
- Package development
- Layout
- Material and Equipment Procurement
- Submittal Review
- Manpower scheduling
- Quantity takeoffs
- Labor Productivity Reporting
- Document Controls
- Material purchases, deliveries and inventory.
- Perform ongoing Quality Inspections.
- Assist in resolving construction problem/issues
- May provide necessary building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials.
- Interpret design/drawings for company personnel and subcontractors that are installing the work.
- Research; recommend resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors.
- Initiate RFI's, manage the submittal and RFI process electronically, follow through to resolution.
- Review contractor submittals, RFI's and pay applications for conformance and accuracy.
- Verify all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
- Prepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as RFI responses, Change Directives, Material and equipment submittals, status reports, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations, etc., to supervisor.
- May provide technical support and direction of project material control functions including implementation and operation of maintenance program.
- Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, etc.
- Represent company, project and/or department during A/E, client and project management meetings.
- Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
