For over 50 years, Afton Alps has delighted the Twin Cities’ families as one of the Midwest’s premier winter destinations. Nestled in the scenic St. Croix River Valley just outside Minneapolis and St. Paul, this sprawling resort is re-imagining the guest experience with renovated base area facilities, a powerful state-of-the-art snowmaking system and a new cutting edge terrain park.

With nearly 300 skiable acres, 50 trails, 18 lifts and 4 terrain parks, there is enough terrain to challenge experts to beginners, day or night. Afton Alps offers an 18-hole golf course, and an 18-hole foot golf course to be enjoyed by all levels – beginners to experts during the spring to fall season.

The Terrain Park Attendant is a labor intensive position responsible for construction, maintenance, and repair of all features; in addition to safety awareness, Terrain Park etiquette and guest relations within the terrain parks and half pipe.  Daily responsibilities include opening and closing the terrain park, ensuring all signage is visible, testing features and assessing risk and liability each morning.  The Terrain Park Attendant will provide exceptional guest service and work outdoors in all weather conditions for the entire day.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Frequent raking and shoveling of all snow and jib features.
• Inspection and maintenance of all Terrain Park features.
• Communication, via radio, with Ski Patrol to report injuries.
• Educating guests on Terrain Park safety and etiquette.
• Building and repairing rails, boxes, jibs, etc.
• Event venue construction. Includes building scaffolding, installing fence, tents, banners, etc.
• Maintaining various Snowsports School on-mountain attractions.
• Fence/barrier maintenance; trash and snow removal.
• Install and maintain park closures and signage.
• Facility cleaning duties at least one time per week.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older - required
• Ability to lift up to, and sometimes more than, 50lbs - required.
• Ability to stand outside in all weather conditions, for 8+ hours per day - required.
• Ability to complete and pass ski/ride test - required.
• Ability to ski/ride outside in all weather conditions, for 8+ hours per day - required.
• Ability to be ready, fit for work, as early as 6:30am each day - required.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and Holidays – required
• Ability to work at night as needed for build projects - required

Compensation:

• Pay rate starting at $10.00 hr.
• Ski pass valid at all Vail Resorts locations.
