We have a full-time/part-time opening for a Housekeeping Supervisor.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

The Team Leader is ultimately responsible for the daily success of the shift. The Team Leader must work closely with the staff, assisting whenever needed with every aspect of guest service. The Team Leader must project an air of confidence and be willing and able to take charge of any situation including: personnel issues, guest complaints, cleaning of guest rooms, cleaning of public areas and restrooms, opening and closing etc. A successful Housekeeping Team Leader will have the ability to see the “big picture” and understand how each unit impacts other units. The ability to anticipate problems before they occur and implement an effective solution without negatively affecting guest service is a key requirement and responsibility of the Housekeeping Team Leader.

Additionally, the Team Leader is expected to make themselves available as a resource to help all employees in the Department that may be struggling or require assistance. As such, it is an expectation that the Team Leader use a heightened level of discretion and confidentiality when discussing the personal issues of other employees. Any issues disclosed in confidence by an employee should only be discussed with the department Manager or Human Resources Representative.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays etc. This position does not include a set schedule from week to week. Start and end times will vary week to week based on demands on the business.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and perform well under pressure.
  • Ability to hold others accountable to company standards using a tactful, yet firm approach. Experience in conflict resolution preferred.
  • Ensure that all Carlson brand service standards are being adhered to as established in the Carlson Standard Operating Procedures handbook.
  • Hold an effective daily team huddle. Go over any special instructions and/or changes needed for the shift.
  • Be an active participant in the Housekeeping leadership meeting. Present ideas for improvement and contribute to the discussion.
  • Take a proactive approach in anticipating business needs based on characteristics of in-house group business.
  • Ensure that 100% of guest rooms are inspected using a 5-point inspection process before each guest is checked in. Although the Quality Inspectors will complete the majority of inspections, the Team Leader is also expected to perform inspections each day and ensure that the Quality Inspectors are on task.
