When you join us as the Director of Marketing and Community Outreach, you will be a key player in bringing the nation's largest provider of Health Benefits and Services into the largest Medicaid market.  You will have the opportunity to build a business from the ground up and build your own team. You'll put your tenacity to the test while breaking down barriers, elevating your sales skills with an elite team to rewrite the history of UnitedHealth Group.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 

Develops functional, market level, and/or site strategy, plans, production and/or organizational priorities

Develop a strategic marketing plan with community outreach activities
Build and grow relationships with community organizations, provider groups, non-profits, faith based organizations to promote our program.
Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems outside own team
 Work in cooperation with National marketing team on marketing strategies

Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed organization

Self-starter with strong ability to work independently with limited direction

Creative problem solver who can effectively communicate solutions and execute  those solutions

Ability to lead, mentor and develop marketing team members who work in different geographies

Ability to lead virtually with cross-functional teams

Desire and passion to help benefit and serve the MediCal population

Ability to anticipate, analyze, and present to senior leaders market and competitor shifts with recommended new strategies to foster continuous growth

Desire to build success from ground up

Some overnight travel will be required
 
 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree
9+ years people management experience
9+ years of marketing experience with in a matrix organization 
9+ years experience in a deadline driven environment
9+ years proficiency in Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
9+ years experience demonstrating organization skills
9+ years experience managing and prioritizing several deliverables
9+ years experience in meeting or exceeding sales promotion/marketing targets
9 years experience influencing and collaborating with others
9+ years project management experience
Experience with/understanding of the MediCal Program
Demonstrated success marketing to MediCal or other Medicaid populations
Experience in the development, execution and quantifying the effectiveness of Community Outreach activities
Experience developing and fostering relationships with Community and Faith Based Organizations and their leadership to serve the needs of members
Development of strategic marketing pursuit plans
Demonstrated success in leading membership growth and plan development – possess a selling mentality/orientation
