Job Description:
BODY SHOP PAINT TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT
The Paint Technician Assistant is responsible for assisting the Paint Technicians to perform automotive paint repairs in accordance with Lithia, manufacturer and insurance standards. This individual works closely with all Body Shop staff and management to ensure exemplary customer service levels and satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Prepare work station/s with materials and parts for Paint Technicians. Prep, mask, and tape vehicles for repair. Wash vehicles before and after paint has been applied. Color-sand, polish, and buff vehicles prior to pre-delivery. Utilize paint supplies and materials in a practical and economical manner. Maintain an organized and clean workspace, completing a stall cleaning every day. Perform work with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Lithia, manufacturer and insurance standards. Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements. Return special tools to proper place. Review work completed to ensure quality. Communicate with fellow dealership team members as is necessary to meet customer service levels and satisfaction. Report to the Paint Technician any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, and/ or integrity of the dealership, the staff or our customers. Other duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements/Expectations
Maintain high level of productivity as outlined by management. Arrive to and from work, and take required breaks and meal periods, as scheduled by management. Thoroughness, accuracy, and timeliness in completing essential duties. Maintain personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards according to departmental policies. Clean gray work shirts, creased gray work trousers, shirts to be tucked in at all times. Belts worn on trousers to be of no buckle design to avoid scratching paint on customer's vehicles.
