Program Director Position

We are a growing star rated program and we are seeking an administrator with the skill and a heart to direct our program as a top-notch Child Care Learning Center.....

General Responsibility: To manage the overall operation of the childcare center. This includes but is not limited to the following: providing a safe, healthy, consistent, positive, caring environment to children in your care, supervise staff, implement curriculum, develop parental rapport, ensure profitability, ensure maximum enrollment, maintain financial records and be available to work in any classroom at any time based on the needs of the center.

Qualifications: A Program Director should have an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field or have a Career Pathways level 3. or a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a relevant field preferred.

Essential Functions
* Recruit, supervise employees and schedule staff to ensure proper staff child ratios
* Have knowledge of and follow all State Licensing rules and regulations and ensure staff do the same
* Evaluate and document all aspects of each staff member's job performance, including an annual review
* Maintain and audit child and employee state and personnel files on a regular basis to ensure files are up-to-date
* Take a progressive approach with discipline and document verbal and written warnings
* Terminate unsatisfactory employees after a reasonable effort to solve existing problems with approval & support from upper management
* Designate and train an individual to assume responsibility at the center when you are not available
* Arrange for substitutes for absent staff members
* Function as a substitute for an absent teacher when another substitute cannot be found
* Conduct staff meetings on a quarterly basis and assist in the professional development planning for staff
* Ensure that teachers are performing at a high level of functioning and meeting company, state and Step Up To Quality standards
* Prepare and/or maintain program for Step Up To Quality Star ratings
* Function as a leader who is cooperative and committed to the concept of team spirit; willing to share ideas, time and services, thereby helping others to achieve their very best
* Assist and support teachers in the classroom whenever necessary
* Be highly organized, self-motivated, have the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, pay attention to detail, and communicate effectively
