The Time Warner Cable Charlotte office currently has an opportunity for a Database Administrator, Teradata, for our BI and Data Warehouse Department. Please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position below.
Job Requirements:
Relevant Experience (Yrs):
5+ Years in data warehouse environment
2-3 years as a Terdata DBA
2-3 years DBA skills in other RDBMS (Netezza, SQLServer, Oracle) is good to have
Experience Required:Strong understanding of Teradata tools and utilitiesHands-on experience maintaining Teradata database objects, space allocation and access managementSystem Backup and Recovery experienceMust possess solid background in Business Intelligence and Data WarehousingMust have experience in large multi-terabyte DW environmentsAbility to work independently and within the architecture teamExperience in performance troubleshooting, SQL optimizationExtremely strong SQL and database experienceFull life cycle experience (Agile methodology a plus)Strong UNIX, shell scripting, and *vi* skillsStrong hands-on experience in tuning RDBMS platforms (SQL, system, host)Technical/Functional Skills:Up-to-date with latest Teradata release features and functionsMust have experience with developing code and troubleshooting SQLDatabase Design skills requiredStrong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work with business and technical counterparts
