Overview

Performs general Cashier/Dietary duties with speed, accuracy and emphasis on customer service. Performs general warehousing and storage practices for all incoming supplies used in the Dietary Department. Responsible for the general cleaning and execution of all scheduled cleaning of the department. Performs other additional duties as assigned by the Director or Supervisor. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, guiding principles and Mercy service standards.

Delivers food to customers with emphasis on portion control.

Sets up, organizes, stocks, and disassembles work areas and equipment to insure a high state of cleanliness and/or sanitation at all times.

Follows standardized recipes consistently when assembling food items by exact weight, measuring, and positioning of ingredients.

Knows method of short order food preparation and provides exceptionally good customer service by handling requests in a courteous and efficient manner.

Provides exceptionally good customer service and handles requests in a timely efficient manner.

Adapts to and works well with a variety of situations and people.

Demonstrates appropriate use of telephone etiquette and operational functions.

Knows, applies, and maintains a high state of cleanliness with floors, lights, vents, oven trough, ice machines, floor fans and chest freezer as outlined for scheduled cleaning.

Inventories incoming supplies for completeness and accuracy insures all paperwork is provided to the Director/supervisor.

Operates and maintains necessary equipment with proficiency and special emphasis focused on safety and efficiency.

Follows production schedules so that food can be prepared and served according to the schedule. Presented foods must be appealing to the eye and determining the use of leftovers and proper rotation of stocks is a must.

Operates Cash Register accurately with emphasis on customer service. Cash Drawer reconciliation report will be maintained at +/- 2 %.

Establishes a working rapport with director/supervisor that is conducive to a "well-oiled" department.

Follows all SQL and department policies and procedures.

Completes all mandatory CareLearning, HIPPA, Corporate Compliance, Employee Satisfaction Survey, and department staff meetings.

Aware of work schedule and arrives to work prepared to execute daily duties. This includes making necessary arrangements in the event of inclement weather.

Wears proper personal protective equipment when appropriate

Wears clothing and Health System badge consistent with dress code, and attends to personal hygiene to maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance.

Meets Health System attendance standards.

Performs other additional duties as assigned by the Director or Supervisor.

Other: Skills, knowledge and abilities: Ability to read, write, and follow instructions, work well with others, be flexible with daily schedule in order to accommodate others. Working conditions, mental and physical requirements: must be able to stand and/or walk for extensive periods, tolerate extreme cold temperatures for long periods of time. Ability to lift 70 pounds.Equipment used: Cash register, general kitchen equipment, industrial dish washer, vacuums, dollie, computer.
