Overview
The Cardiology Registered Nurse is responsible for using the Nursing Process to meet the needs of the cardiac patients according to professional standards of nursing care.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Is responsive to and addresses complaints of and/or appearance of patient's pain.
Accurately assesses patient and family care needs.
Plans care for the patient/family based on the assessment in collaboration with physician and others of the interdisciplinary care team.
Implements or appropriately delegates care based on the interdisciplinary plan of care.
Completes Nursing Skills testing and Cardiology Competencies.
Competent to provide Cardiology/Radiology Services as appropriate to the age specific population of the assigned area. See " Age Appropriate Care for the Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric Patient" policy.
Demonstrates effective critical thinking, creativity, and resourcefulness.
Facilitates departmental integration into the larger organization.
Demonstrates behaviors of strong patient advocacy.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of approved school of professional nursing
Licensure: Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Arkansas
Experience: Two years cardiovascular experience, preferably in Intensive care, Cardiac Step-down Unit, cardiac telemetry Unit, or Cardiac Cath Lab
Certifications: Current CPR Certification Current ACLS Certification or ability to obtain within 3 months
Other: Current Dysrhythmia class Able to lift 50 pounds & push at least 100 pounds Able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time Able to assist in transporting, moving, lifting patients, supplies, and equipment Able to endure considerable reaching, stooping/bending, kneeling, and crouching Able to distinguish sounds, colors, and odors Able to handle the daily stresses of the workplace Meets hospital requirements for math and medication competency Demonstrates effective critical thinking, creativity, and resourcefulness Demonstrates effective communication and problem solving skills with patients/families, co-workers, and physicians Demonstrates clinical competence.
