Position Summary:

Overview

Responsible for providing comprehensive work place medical and/or wellness services, which may include patient triage/evaluation/referral into the health care system, phlebotomy, immunization administration, BLS instruction, hearing testing and other testing/duties as company-specific/contracted needs arise per OSHA guidelines. May require supervision of HRA team members as well as oversight and implementation of program-specific policy and procedures. Requires ongoing up to date knowledge of OSHA guidelines, workman's Compensation laws and FMLA guidelines. Wellness and medical background and skills essential. Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

Coordinate health fairs or other wellness activities.

Act as member of HRA team, including supervision of HRA team, enforcing accountability for quality work and performance of job duties.

Evaluates employee health/wellness concerns (promotes HRA and other health screenings) and needs and provides individual counseling & recommendations for appropriate programs to help the employees decrease their risk factors and thus decrease long term healthcare resource utilization

Schedule and/or administer and/or document health and safety services per OSHA guidelines including: immunizations, audiograms, PFT's/Respirator Fit testing, HRAs, CPR/First Aid training etc. as directed by company.

Maintain close working relationship with HR/applicable supervisory department/position regarding ongoing duties, such as employee health documentation, case management of work-related /non work related injuries, FMLA, STD/LTD, new-hire screening, etc. as required

Proficient in phlebotomy, blood pressure and obtaining basic biometrics.

Maintain first aid equipment, supplies and procedures as outlined by company including AED maintenance.

Triage and administer first aid as needed, including referral into the medical system and appropriate follow-up directives.

Maintain necessary licensures and/or certifications to fulfill job duties as assigned.

Maintain system for quality control and/or performance evaluation for equipment and procedures as needed.

11. Maintains up to date knowledge of FMLA Laws, OSHA guidelines and Workman's Compensation laws. Meet all OSHA guidelines concerning recording data/or recordability issues.

Assist with accident investigation where applicable and case management on injuries.

Assist with and or supervises Annual Flu shot immunization schedule.

Documents employee health interactions and maintains confidential files including but not limited to, TB skin testing, hepatitis series, audiograms, PFT's etc.

Allows for flexible hours and cooperates with schedule changes.

Completes Internal Wellcoaching training

Performs duties assigned by specific contracted Company.

Identifies own learning needs and searches out educational experiences to meet these needs

Participates in various events representing Corporate Health Services. Attends department inservices, and seeks information from other staff and professional literature.

Observes universal precautions consistently. Wears proper personal protective equipment when appropriate.

Wears clothing and Health System badge consistent with dress code, and attends to personal hygiene to maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance. Meets Health System attendance standards.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

Education: Registered Nurse (*may be LPN on Company request).

Licensure: Registered Nurse license*.

Experience: Minimum three years clinical nursing experience.

Certifications: Must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period. Excellent communication and organization skills.

Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills and facilitation skills. Knowledge in medical and allied health services. With a strong interest in promoting health, wellness, safety & prevention activities & programs in the corporate setting. Must be able to work independently. Must have good computer skills. CPR instructor preferred. Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and respond quickly in an emergency. Equipment Used: Computer, various general medical equipment.
