The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks an Manager of the Edge Routing Team in our Network Ops & Engineering Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.


Position Summary

The Manager of the Edge Routing Team will have overall responsibility and leadership of the Edge Routing Team carrying out the day-to-day operations and support of the High Speed Data, Phone, IT, and Video networks throughout Kentucky, Indiana & Tennessee.

Heavy BGP and OSPF Knowledge preferred.


Essential Job Functions:
Managing a team that provides and delivers innovative solutions to complex problems, maintains the IP network and switching infrastructure, enforce and recommend local policies for daily operational tasks, and enforce Regional/TWC policies and procedures.· Liaison with regional engineering teams; engage in a dialogue regarding system requirements and implementation.

Manage and lead the implementation of changes to the metro and/or CORE network to support growth, enhancements, and new product launches within area of responsibility.
Lead network staff in troubleshooting issues to resolution using an enterprise ticketing system for event management and measure team’s performance in providing accurate ticketing measurements.
Create, document, and enforce standard operating procedures and adhere to company policies, guidelines, and configuration standards for all aspects of the network.
· Establish resilient service delivery networks at the Market and Area levels.

Ensure all tools are monitoring devices properly and that proper ticketing procedures are followed.

·
Lead business continuity planning as it relate to transport networks.


Job Requirements:Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible technical management and thought leadership.In-depth experience leading the end-to-end process of architecture, testing, and implementation of video, voice and data technologies.Experience with design, configuration, implementation, support, and operation of mesh/star, high end Cisco router networks and IP address structuring.
Experience in cable environment (HFC/Fiber) and commercial business solutions highly preferred.Experience in cable environment (digital systems) highly preferred.Able to work effectively with peers, region and corporate leadership, and vendors in a productive collaborative environment coupled with the ability to be decisive is needed.Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.Bachelor ' s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent experience in Networks and Network design and Operation, preferably in information systems, computer science, engineering, or related field strongly desired.Proven successful leadership of large scale technical departments. Background in multimedia or broadband communications engineering in a large cable system.A change agent and culture carrier, requiring the balance between strategic and operating capability with a skew to seamless execution. The ability to drive hard for results with the appropriate strategic foresight, business flexibility, and people sensitivity is key.Assure adherence to established technology policies in regard to network architecture, systems configuration, service availability, and operations procedures.Work closely with the regional principal engineering group and be a key contributor to the definition and design of TWC ' s converged networks and operations (video, data, and voice).
Lead the implementation of TWC’s agreed, uniform architectures and common operating practices (methods, procedures, and tools) in the Region.An effective bridge-builder between regional and field organizations, with the necessary people and performance competencies to communicate a passion for winning.An effective communicator. Must be capable of building relationships and communicating effectively at every level in the organization. The Edge Manager must be capable of listening and learning, building consensus, and developing common goals, one culture, and one company.Shared values and style consistent with TWC’s corporate values: dedication to innovation; high business ethics; diversity; corporate responsibility, customer-focused and quality service.
Preferred Qualifications:
Data networking experience, utilizing copper and fiber optic ethernet technologies preferred.Working understanding of DOCSIS, multicast, and video technologies highly desirable.Experience designing, deploying and maintaining large and diverse networks preferred.Cisco or Juniper certifications (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, etc.) a plus.Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
