We have a full-time/part-time opening for a Quality Manager (Direct Hire).

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

1. Assures documentation of the program to the satisfaction of the customer.
2. Visits customers & suppliers as needed to expedite solutions to Quality concerns.
3. Maintains proper relationships with vendors to ensure their products meet customers quality standards.
4. Answers and takes action to correct the cause of customer complaints due to poor workmanship.
5. Ensures effective utilization of manpower, facilities and equipment indicated by the work produced against predetermined standards.
6. Ensures all material produced is according to the latest customer engineering design level.
7. Maintains an adequate marking system for approved and rejected material, tracks all rejected material for disposition and periodic reporting to upper management.
8. Approves packaging of all material to insure the satisfactory condition of its arrival at the customers facilities.
9. Ensure reliability of all laboratory reports submitted by vendors performing services on customers material.
10. Coordinates all quality activities at the plant.
11. Trains and updates subordinates and employees to relevant policy, procedures, work instructions and inspection practices.
12. Institutes Statistical Process Controls throughout the Plant in an organized manner
13. Depending on the facility being referenced, the quality manager may also be required to act as management representative as referred to in the quality manual.
14. Performs special assignments as delegated.
15. Reviews Quality documentation for correctness.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Skills:
Ability to coach and develop employees
Ability to deal with multiple levels of people effectively, in group and individual settings
Ability to effectively deal with vendors/suppliers/customers
Basic computer literacy
Basic math and business writing skills
Demonstrated ability to develop project plans and manage projects to successful completion
Ability to learn new programs, activities and tasks
Good oral/written communications and interpersonal skills
Ability to facilitate small group meetings
Strong organizational, planning and documentation skills

Knowledge:
Background of 5-6 years in Quality with supervisory responsibilities and/or a Bachelors degree in Quality Engineering with 4+ years in automotive field required.
Must have working knowledge of manufacturing and machining processes and CMM experience.
Knowledge of Quality Assurance techniques with emphasis on Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Automotive Quality Requirements desired.
