The CLG team includes Home Lending, Consumer Credit Card, Personal Loans and Lines, Direct Auto, Dealer Services, Commercial Auto, Retail Services and Education Financial Services including the professional services teams that partner with these businesses - Human Resources, Finance, Credit Risk, and Compliance & Operational Risk.

Our CLG Cross-Group Credit Risk team works closely with business leaders to promote a best-in-class credit culture; encourage common approaches in credit risk management policies, practices and standards; and identify, evaluate and champion adoption of new solutions, and efficiencies that provide business value in managing revenue, expense, quality and risk.

The Data Governance Lead is responsible for developing, deploying and ultimately monitoring the data governance strategy for the Consumer Lending Group (CLG) in conjunction with the Group Data Officer, Enterprise Data Office and associated CLG business lines.

This individual contributor role will be required to assist in the implementation of a CLG Data Strategy, operating model and toolsets that are well aligned to emerging business, Enterprise, Risk and Regulatory requirements.

Specifically, a successful candidate will:

Effectively measure and monitor compliance with policies, principles, and standards set by the business and/or Office of the CDO Implement solutions which actively measure and report on data quality, as well drive the remediation of known data quality issues with the appropriate source system/data owners Participate in the development and implementation of a metadata solution which is Enterprise compliant and effectively provides for well documented data lineage and a common business glossary Ensure data governance progress through ongoing metrics and executive level reporting Participate in Enterprise Data Working Groups as well as CLG data related forums Preferred locations are Des Moines, Charlotte, San Francisco or Minneapolis; however, other Wells Fargo locations may be considered.

7+ years risk reporting and/or analytics experience, 3+ years leadership experience. Extensive experience driving data governance and data management programs/initiatives Significant experience working with cross functional business team implementing and driving consensus for data governance and data management programs/initiatives Strong interpersonal communication skills Solid understanding of how data is used and managed within Consumer Lending or similar domains 5+ years of data management/data analysis work experience Prior experience, knowledge of CLG lines of business or similar Consumer Lending domains Strong knowledge of BASEL/other financial industry compliance regulations Proven experience with demonstrated success in consulting, collaborating and influencing across heavily matrixed organizations and across various levels of management Prior experience developing and implementing metadata, data quality assurance, and associated software/hardware solutions
