High School graduate or equivalent:

Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in aviation sheet metal including advanced composite repair working on the USCG H-60 helicopter aircraft, is required.

Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft structural modification and repair procedures including:

* A thorough knowledge of aircraft structural modification and repair procedures.

* A thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/composite structural modifications and repair.

* Working knowledge of technical publications.

* The ability to communicate effectively, both by oral means and by demonstrating work methods and techniques.

* Must have the ability to read, understand, interpret and apply trade or administrative guides such as technical manuals, and technical orders, blueprints, sketches, and other related documents.

* Have the knowledge, skill and ability to follow appropriate safety procedures common to the trade.

* Must have knowledge of hazardous materials and hazardous waste procedures, including the proper fitting and usage of protective gear and completion of related training.

* Demonstrate the ability to lift, reach, bend, walk, pull, sit, stand, crouch, stoop, kneel, and stretch for prolonged periods of time.

* May be subjected to cramped, awkward, and strained positions and/or must climb up and down ladders, work platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures.

* Must carry items up to 40 pounds or on heavier objects seek assistance of other workers or weight lifting devices.

* Required to wear cumbersome personal protective equipment and clothing for Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) operations.

Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.

May be required to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check.

Job Description:

An Aircraft Structural Mechanic repairs and modifies aircraft structures, composites, and structural components of moderate difficulty. Troubleshoots, repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, rivet gun, and drills. Applies technical knowledge of the airframe and applies required expertise in restoring aircraft structural condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; technical manuals, engineering data, specifications, blueprints or manufactures' manuals.

* Required to wear cumbersome personal protective equipment and clothing for Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) operations.
