Sutter Care at Home is the home health care and hospice affiliate of Sutter Health, one of the nation's largest not-for-profit health care systems.

The primary purpose of the Client Services Supervisor ("Supervisor") is to be responsible for private care home care aide services in accordance with current standards and regulations so that the highest degree of quality care will be maintained at all times. This position is responsible for the supervision, quality assurance, and client satisfaction for the provision of direct non-medical care within the private care service line. Management and leadership skills needed include conflict management, communication, customer service and coaching/mentoring others.

This position visits client homes to perform announced and unannounced supervisory visits of home care aide staff to ensure high quality services are provided and client needs are met. The supervisor recruits, hires, orients, and provides ongoing coaching and performance management of home care aides. The Supervisor interfaces with clients, family members, care managers, and other professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of the client in their home setting. Participates as necessary in referral intake, informational calls, team meetings and represents staff on appropriate committees and the agency to the community.

Outline of the Principal Accountabilities :

Provides leadership and direction to all assigned staff home care aide field staff to perform within scope of practice.

Performs planned and unplanned supervisory field visits to directly verify the quality of care delivery while maintaining acceptable supervision per caregiver and client statistics.

Performs ongoing performance evaluations, coaching, and progressive discipline with field staff to ensure productivity and quality standards are met consistently.

Engages in activities to enhance field staff retention, reduce turnover, and maintain employee satisfaction.

Ensures staff compliance with agency policies and procedures for maintaining competencies and annual educational requirements, including infection control, safety, and disaster planning. Education/Certification/Licensure:

AA/AS Required, BA/BS Desired. CNA or Home Health Aide Certificate Desired.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

At least 1 year experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

Previous experience working with the elderly population, home health, hospice agency, or senior care facility preferred.

Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A.), Home Health Aide (H.H.A.), or experience as a home care aide highly desirable.

Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with clients and their families, staff members, and others involved in the client referral and care process.

Must have collaborative and creative problem solving skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Must be able to coach, teach, and motivate field staff.

Must be able to handle sensitive issues and conflicts with or among others, and respectively direct and reinforce staff efforts.

Must effectively plan, organize and prioritize work, think critically to effectively solve unique problems as they arise or identify when to consult supervisor.

Self-starter with a high degree of initiative, flexibility, and independence required to work competently and autonomously in the absence of the General Manager.

Must possess good computer skills and be able to enter information efficiently in tablet for documentation.

Special Requirements:

Must have Valid CA driver's license and proof of current auto insurance.

Must be able to deal with a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of clients and staff at various locations in the field.

Maintain a positive and professional image and demonstrate self-directed learning to meet professional development and/or license requirements.

At orientation and annually thereafter, must be able to meet core competencies for position as appropriate.
