Founded in 1984, the College Internship Program (CIP) is one of the most comprehensive programs in the world for assisting young adults with Asperger's, High-functioning Autism, ADHD, NLD and other Learning Differences. Our Mission is to inspire independence and expand the foundation on which young adults can build happy and productive lives.

We offer full year and summer programs in Massachusetts, Florida, Indiana, California and New York. We have a comprehensive curriculum with a focus on helping post-secondary students succeed in college, employment, and independent living while making the transition from adolescence to young adulthood. The CIP program focuses on real-life skills in areas such as social thinking, executive functioning, sensory processing and wellness.

Our Long Beach Center location is looking for a part-time Job Coach to perform the following duties:

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with Career Coordinator and related staff for the purpose of supporting lesson plans and/or developing students' vocational skills
* Serve as a liaison between employer & student, working to identify areas requiring additional training on techniques and methods for maintaining solid work habits
* Participate in a variety of meetings and workshops (e.g. community sponsored events, award ceremonies, career events, etc) independently and with our students, that encourage professional development and assist in developing better networking and professional skills
* Prepare reports and other written materials (e.g. instructions, emails, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to staff, providing written support, developing recommendations and/or conveying information
* Observe and compile data on students in order to benefit students and staff, assisting the staff in making decisions in regard to the students
* Advise students in job search skills for the purpose of informing them of employment and career options
* Monitor students' performance in a variety of work sites to ensure compliance and safety
* Recognize the need for accommodations, techniques, and different methods of instruction
* Tutor students in vocational skills (e.g. work requirements, interviewing skills, self-advocacy, social thinking, etc) to enhance the students' readiness for employment

Education & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and at least 1 year of experience and/or training
* Experience and/or exposure to job placement/career decision and direction orientation skills training
* Charismatic, motivational and professional personality
* Excellent verbal, written, and time management skills
* Present a professional appearance and manner
* Belief in and knowledge of the potential abilities and skills of people living with learning and attention differences, Asperger's, high functioning autism, and related hidden disabilities
