JOB DESCRIPTION

We're currently seeking a Healthcare Operations Specialist for a temp to hire opportunity in Charlotte, NC with our partner, one of the leading providers of document / electronic content management services and solutions.

Daily Responsibilities Include:


  • Compile, process, and maintain medical records of hospital and clinic patients in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the health care system.


  • Ensure that HIPAA guidelines are followed as well as compliance with company goals and policies.


  • Maintain quality and scanning production requirement. Identify quality control issues and work with director to implement quality-control procedures.


  • Oversee the daily production process, prepare, update, and communicate the production schedule.


  • Ensure projects are produced on time and are of good quality. Complete vendor reports.


  • Travel to offsite client production sites. May require occasional overnight travel and overnight stays.


  • Partner with senior management to identify training and resource development needs.


  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required.


  • Other duties may be assigned.


Required Skills:
  • Working knowledge of medical records, file systems, chart completion, personnel management and records management.
  • Ability to effectively utilize personal computers, laptops and tablets required.
  • Effective human relations abilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and disease processes sufficient to clearly understand the content of medical records, understand the information needs of the care providers and to translate these needs into operational systems.
  • Computer experience to include word processing, spreadsheet and database applications (Microsoft Office Suite preferred).
  • Effective organization, planning, scheduling and project management abilities.
  • Effective leadership skills and the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must have effective oral and written communications skills with the ability to communicate with personnel at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented and ability to be self-motivated to prioritize and complete duties in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of or experience with conflict resolution techniques and problem analysis/resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of training and teaching techniques in the workplace.
  • Ability to maintain patient and employee confidentiality.
  • Ability to work occasional off-hour schedules and/or holidays.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum – High school diploma and training in health information filing systems, medical terminology, and personnel management normally acquired through two years of leadership experience in files management, scanning and/or EMPI management. Registered Health Information Administrator/Technician (RHIA or RHIT certification by the American Health Information Management Association) required. Prefer Associate/Bachelor’s degree.


  • Minimum of two years of supervisory, lead, and/or training experience in a health care related industry involving records management, (document imaging preferred) evaluation and/or development of personnel. Prefer three (3) years’ experience in leadership, supervisory or training role in HIM.


  • Requires Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), training or teaching certification.


  • This position will be temporarily located in Roanoke, VA for approximately the first 90-120- days. After that time, the position will be located in Charlotte, NC. Must be available to travel monthly between the two locations .
