POSITION PURPOSE -
- Conduct investigations to detect and resolve issues of internal and external theft and provides shrink follow up.
- Provide information for legal issues and appear in court.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
- Analyzes information and conducts investigations of possible theft / fraud.
- Collects and reviews P.O.S. register information, computer exception reports, vault activity reports and other related documents.
- Conducts interviews for internal dishonest activity.
- Detains and interviews persons apprehended for shoplifting, in accordance with local laws and Company procedures once satisfying all four elements of proof.
- Communicates with Store Management and DLPM on bookkeeping, computer room, special services, receiving, front-end, and RTVs loss exposure.
- Typically reports to stores with LPM: In stores without LPM: Store Manager & District Loss Prevention Manager.
- This position has no direct reports.
- Typically has frequent contacts outside the workgroup.
- Typically procedures for analyzing situations and making conclusions are diverse.
- Typically considers among several options and past practice when solving problems.
- Typically progress or results of work is regularly checked and prior approval is required before changing standard work procedures.
- There are some deadlines or productivity standards or the work is somewhat varied.
EDUCATION REQUIRED -
- The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES -
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS -
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
- A formal training program after High School. 1+ year(s) experience as a retail-related LPI or equivalent.
- Competent in the use of retail CCTV systems.
- Understanding of external theft surveillance and apprehension methodologies.
- Excellent analyticall skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Analyze data as it pertains to work related issues. Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple priorities.
