All the hot fashion found in our Nordstrom stores, at the Rack and online comes through our Seattle-based Nordstrom Merchandising Group. These fashion-savvy trendsetters work together to make sure we have the right merchandise in the right place at the right time. They keep our customers coming back for more!

A day in the life…

The ideal Merch Analyst is analytical, results-oriented and views the business through the lens of the customer.

· Develop an understanding of the needs, wants and expectations of the customer and understands the differences in how they shop by channel

· Build awareness of the product and merchandise strategies

· Prepare one page summaries for market and coordinate with business partners (Ecommerce, Site, Retail Director, Replenishment, etc.) to ensure completion

· Complete category, supplier or class specific analysis for buying office, when needed

· Complete buying office owned item attributes for item setup

· Execute MDs, RTVs, racking and reorders

· Manage and maintain drop ship feeds, inclusive of monitoring live dates, shifts, supplier communication

· Monitor on hand inventory levels for upcoming features and events; communicate concerns

· Manage and file product photos post-market

· Manage sample requests with merch coordinators and product coordinators

You own this if you have…

· A Bachelor's degree in Merchandising or related field with a preferred minimum accumulative GPA of 3.2

· Experience in retail merchandising, planning or analysis

· Strong business acumen and ability to analyze data and draw conclusions

· Strong math skills

· Demonstrated understanding of retail and the service environment of Nordstrom

· Proficiency in MS Office Suite (primarily excel navigation, formulas and pivot tables)

· Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills required

· Strong organizational skills that enable you to thrive in a fast-paced environment and ability to quickly learn new processes and procedures

· Passion for product and fashion

· Qualified candidates must be able to work in our Seattle Headquarters location.
