Summary

Responsible for sales and relationship management activities for assigned portfolio of customers. Sells computer software products over the phone, primarily for an established customer base.  Maintains relationships with customers and identifies additional sales opportunities through effective communication and needs assessment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow existing customer relationships through ongoing sales support and identification of additional   sales opportunities. May be responsible for working a pipeline of new customer prospects.
  • Work with customers/prospects to determine their level of need for software applications and explain product/service offering in order to qualify additional sales opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed revenue and quota goals through effective communication and partnering skills.
  • Utilize various software applications to optimize efficiency and performance.
  • Promote knowledge transfer by sharing product knowledge, problem causes, sales methods, and resolutions with other team members.
  • Continually broaden understanding of client and client products through participating in a wide range of ongoing training in order to be able to intelligently speak about and educate others on product offerings.
  • Develop communication skills for a higher level of effectiveness in identifying awareness of customer needs and expectations.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with all policies, procedures, and regulations relating to job duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education:
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (e.g., Sales/Marketing, Business, Information Technology) strongly preferred. 
Experience:
  • Three or more years of sales/prospecting experience required.
  • Experience in portfolio and/or pipeline management required.
  • Experience in business or project planning execution and evaluation of results preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics: 
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills as demonstrate through prior sales/customer service experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate sales/prospecting skills, including a successful track record of outstanding sales performance.
  • Must be comfortable selling over the telephone to existing and new customers.
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of customers and business partners.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Strong personal computer skills including proficiency in the use of Microsoft suite of products.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multitasked environment.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
