DUTIES

As a Mail Clerk, you will receive, distribute, and forward official/personal mail throughout the installation; to receive, sort and dispatch official outgoing metered mail. Provide directory service, redirecting undeliverable mail. Receive, read and route correspondence, reports, publications, orders, circulars, directives, messages and other miscellaneous materials by general subject matter to approximately 125-150 action offices or delivery points. Meter outgoing official mail for proper classification. Prepare monthly reports to all users of official postage used and their current balance. Answer telephone and personal inquiries pertaining to status of action correspondence, correct procedures and formats for material and general information concerning central mail functions.
