Nestled in the scenic St. Croix River Valley just outside Minneapolis and St. Paul, this sprawling resort is re-imagining the guest experience with renovated base area facilities, a powerful state-of-the-art snowmaking system and a new cutting edge terrain park.

The CDL Driver for passengers is under general supervision, performs various tasks relating to the transportation of passengers around the afton Alps resort.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Operates a passenger van safely and efficiently.
  • Follows specific regularly scheduled routes or responds to requests from dispatch or management for unscheduled pick-ups or drop-offs.
  • Assists passengers in boarding and exiting vehicle; loads and unloads skis, snowboards and other items.
  • Inspects exterior and interior of vehicle at beginning of each shift for properly operating headlights, turn signals, brake lights, interior courtesy lamps, air conditioning or heating, warning lamps, mirror adjustment, properly inflated tires, windshield wipers, vehicle damage, etc. prior to moving vehicle.
  • Responsible for ensuring inside and outside of vehicle are properly cleaned and fueled on an ongoing basis.  Keeps interior of vehicle neat and orderly.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work weekends - Required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older - for insurance pruposes.
  • Must have a current U.S. Driver’s License and CDL License for Passengers - Required     
  • Extended sitting, standing, bending, lifting, etc.
  • Must be able to constantly enter and exit vehicle, load/unload skis, snowboards, and other items from the shuttle to the ground/curb and vise-versa.
  • Must be able to see to safely operate a vehicle after sunset.
  • Must be able to communicate by telephone, two-way radio, and in-person in English.
  • Must be able to communicate in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner with customers, guests, co-workers and other persons.

 

 

Lift operators at Afton Alps are responsible for the safety of our guests while they are loading, riding, and unloading our chairlifts. Afton Alps strives to provide exceptional experiences to all of our guests through our front line guest service. This position is seasonal running approximately from mid-November through end of March.

 

Work schedules are:

Monday-Thursday morning shifts (8:50am to 4:30pm)

Friday, Saturday, Sunday morning shifts (8:20am to 4:30pm)

All evening shifts (3:20pm to 10-10:30pm)

All holidays follow weekend hours.

** Shift requirements are at least two shifts on the weekends: Friday night through Sunday night.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for guest safety at chairlifts.
  • Assist all guests in loading, riding and unloading chair lifts.
  • Greet every guest as they enter the lift line queues. 
  • Responsible for making positive contact with our guests.
  • Must be safety conscious and able to make quick decisions.
  • Responsibly for snow removal, daily set-up, and routine maintenance of lift areas.
  • Able to work outside for extended periods of time in winter conditions.
  • Maintain compliance with all department standards of appearance and behavior.
  • Must be able to work independently or in a small team to accomplish daily tasks.
  • Complete daily lift logs for each shift.
  • Operation of assigned lift in accordance with department procedures and policies.
  • Other duties required.

 

Qualification:

  • Exceptional Customer Service.
  • Willing and enthusiastic about working in an outdoor winter alpine environment.
  • Able to meet physical demands of the position such as standing outside in inclement weather for long periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Well-developed communication skills.
