The primary duty of the Account Executive is to promote healthcare sales and market UHC products through a defined list of agents and brokers.  The Account Executive focuses on the small business market segment, those customers employing up to 99 employees.
 
Primary Responsibilities: 

Identify potential healthcare business customers
Develop business relationships with agents and/or brokers in order to increase sales
Independently decide which brokers to focus on and which products to recommend
Promote sales of healthcare products to small business customers through brokers
Educate and keep brokers up to date on UHC products and pricing
Evaluate and discuss with brokers how UHC products meet the needs of the brokers' customers
Develop and deliver recommendations to brokers on which products to market against competing products
Assist brokers in developing sales proposals, including anticipating competing products and distinguishing UHC's products from those competing products
Achieve agent/broker sales goals
Attain regional and health plan goals related to specific targeted health care products
Produce agent/broker sales that result in profitable premium levels for the company
Demonstrate success in meeting or exceeding sales promotion/marketing skills
Work independently to establish and grow relationships in the broker community for the small business market for the assigned geographic area

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of successful sales experience, with a full-range of healthcare products
2+ years previous territory management experience
2+ years managing accounts through brokers/agencies
Active life/health insurance license as required by state law
Travel up to 100% of time within assigned TX sales territory  
Have valid driver’s license and insured, reliable vehicle
Proficient in MS/Office (Word, Excel, Outlook & Power Point)
Live within a commutable distance to Dallas, TX   
 
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree
Experience selling HMO, POS, PPO and ancillary product
