Mechanical Designer

Aerotek is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer that will be responsible for creating system concepts and schematic designs for the construction of HVAC systems.

This candidate will be responsible for creating system concepts and documents process from schematic design through construction administration within the discipline. The position also prepares and documents required code research, develops, analyzes, evaluates and sets criteria for solutions to project related issues. The Mechanical Designer is also responsible for developing the mechanical design, equipment selection, assessment of owner needs and initiates the development of the an overall design plan.

Position Responsibilities:

• Participates in the development of the project cost model and design
• Interfaces with team members of other professional disciplines
• Documents interpretation and submittal reviews during bidding and construction administration
• Makes appropriate modifications that are cost effective to systems
• Maintain familiarity with all design disciplines including Fire Protection, HVAC, hydronics, and plumbing
• Performs construction administration on projects
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management

Position Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of experience in A/E industry
• AutoCad experience required
• Revit would be a plus
• Experience in Excel
• Strong organizational skills
• Basic computing skills including proficiency in MS Office suite
• Ability to Multi-task
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated and flexible
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred
