Working closely with the Director of Accreditation, the Associate Director will lead an accreditation and clinical quality team in successfully meeting NCQA and other applicable accreditation requirements for all commercial and marketplace health plans. This leader is also responsible for the day to day oversight of accreditation related work and projects. This role is responsible for end to end monitoring of accreditation requirements and submissions. This position manages accreditation staff which may include managers and quality consultants.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Leads accreditation team to achieve zero defects across all health plans related to NCQA and other applicable regulatory/government requirements and applicable internal audits
Works with various internal and external business partners to meet compliance requirements for NCQA, URAC, and other state and federal regulatory requirements
Acts as Accreditation liaison to Regional Quality Director and regional staff
Provides leadership and input in developing initiatives to meet accreditation and regulatory requirements, and to achieve a continuous state of readiness and compliance
Achieves/exceeds established accreditation annual goals and objectives
Oversees actual production and submission of accreditation surveys
Monitors and reports on status of project issues, risks and deadlines with leadership
Ensures completion of QI program documents/templates, and other quality reports related to accreditation requirements
Supports staff and workgroups in regularly identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in accreditation related work
Works with Director of Accreditation in developing and managing annual accreditation budgets
Effectively supports employee engagement and employee development
 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in healthcare related field
A minimum of 5 years experience in quality improvement in a managed healthcare setting
At least 5 years demonstrated experience in preparing NCQA accreditation surveys
At least 2 years of experience directly managing staff
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to understand and analyze data, and to solve complex problems across various functional areas of a complex organization
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree
