Retail Generalist Associate

Status : Part-time (0-29hrs)

Must have open/flexible availability Mon-Sun

Pay : $8.50 / hr

We Pay For Performance

Possibility of a pay increase to $9.00/hr

Upon solid performance review rating at the 90 day performance evaluation

Position Overview

This is an entry level position working in a production environment working in our retail stores and preparing product to be sold. You will work with a team of retail and operations professionals and help ensure we make the best use of our resources to help achieve our mission. We prefer you are a team player, professional who is willing to "roll up the sleeves!”

Responsibilities (include but not limited to) :

Responsible for all areas within Retail Store to include: Cashier, Textiles, Wares, Shoes/Bags, Books/Media, Electronics, Furniture, Mechanical, Bin Goods, and our Donation Center.

· Learn and perform all responsibilities within the Retail Store

· Provide back-up support for all departments for call-offs, vacation time, and staff shortages.

· Learn and follow all production goals for each department.

· Be flexible and adaptable to work and cover different areas within any given day, could be responsible for covering different departments in one day.

· Must be able to work quickly with a sense of urgency, be able to multi-task and jump between departments as needed.

· Provide excellent Customer Service, especially when working on the Sales Floor or in the Donations Center department.

· Assisting Customers with purchases, pricing, or unloading/loading of product.

· Clean inside and outside areas of store to include: organizing shelves and racks, picking up trash, collecting carts, snow removal, etc.

· Making decisions on quality of product and pricing it accordingly, researching value as necessary.

· Adhering to the appropriate dress code for that days department to include personal protection equipment/clothing.

· Test product function(s) as required.

· Stocking product on shelves, racks and on sales floor, ensuring the sales floor is fully stocked with new product at all times during hours of operation.

· Rotating/Pulling old/unsold product from sales floor.

· Prepare product for shipping/receiving.

· Dust and clean product prior to placing it on sales floor.

· Work closely with Supervisors to set goals and objectives for your position.

· Learn the production goals and meet them daily.

· Help provide a safe working environment for you, customers and fellow employees.

· Cross-train in other departments/areas and act as back-up for other areas as required.

· Be familiar with using a cash register, using basic math, giving accurate change and balancing drawers.

Qualifications :

• To be a high-energy, positive thinker.
• Previous production experience helpful, but not required.
• Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending and lifting up to 8 hours per day.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs, use dolly and pallet jack as required.
• Able to move and think quickly.
• To bring a sense of urgency.
• Desire to work hard and perform well with dedication and great work ethic.
• Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors and other associates.
